Klitchko Reaches Milestone as Macs Defeat Centenary and Clinch Playoff Spot

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J.- The Immaculata women's lacrosse team defeated Centenary on Saturday afternoon by a score of 19-1. With the win Immaculata (4-10, 2-3 AEC) clinched a spot in the Atlantic East Conference Tournament. Junior Kaitlyn Klitchko scored four goals and added one assist to eclipse the 100-point mark for her career.

Immaculata got on the board early in the first quarter as Kaitlyn Klitchko scored twice, and Jacki Murray and Liza Laxton each scored in the games first four minutes. Immaculata would hold a 10-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Immaculata would continue their scoring in the second quarter, Kaitlyn Klitchko scored two additional goals. Ashley Finkbiner scored the first goal of her collegiate career. Immaculata took a 13-0 lead into the halftime break.

In the second half, Gianna Caputo, Ella Bonaventure, Riley Mullen, and Alex Sicari each scored their first collegiate goals. Cara Strickland scored, and Ella Bonaventure scored a second goal.

Immaculata was led offensively by Jacki Murray with three goals and three assists. Kaitlyn Kliltchko with four goals and one assist, and Liza Laxton with two goals and two assists. On the defensive end, Jacki Murray had five ground balls and nine draw controls to lead the Mighty Macs. Goalkeeper Amelia Slick had six saves in goal.

The Immaculata women's lacrosse team will be back in action on Wednesday, April 26th when they host Marymount University at Draper Walsity at Drapeh Stadium for their final Atlantic East Conference regular season game at 4:00 PM.
