IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata baseball team picked up a series opening victory in game one this afternoon versus Marywood University, with a final score of 4-1.

The Immaculata pitching was phenomenal on the day, headlined by senior
Ryan Crowell. With the start, Crowell twirled seven innings, picking up a career high nine strikeouts, while surrendering one walk and zero earned runs. Fellow senior
Mason Keller picked up his 3
rd save of the year with two scoreless innings of relief.

Josh Crowding got the scoring started with a two-run single in the bottom half of the 3
rd inning, bringing in
Maddox Stern and
Frank Margiotta. In the seventh inning,
Frank Margiotta stole second, while forcing a bad throw to allow
Andrew Jones to score to give the Macs a 3-1 lead.

Joey Sacco would lead off the bottom of the 8
th inning with a double, with
Justin Klemick driving him in with a single up the middle to create a three-run lead heading into the 9
th inning.

The Immaculata baseball team is back in action tomorrow when they travel to Marywood for games two and three of their series. First pitch scheduled for 11:00 AM.
