IMMACULATA,Pa.- The Immaculata softball team dropped both games of their doubleheader with Marymount University in heartbreaking fashion.

Game One: Immaculata 9 Marymount 11 (8) – Continuation from 4/15

Marymount jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning. Immaculata would respond on a
Lauren Carboni double to bring home
Jess Oldham.
Peyton McGowan would drive in Oldham to cut the Saints lead to 3-2. The Macs would score another in the inning on a Saints error to tie the game up.

In the bottom of the 3
rd, Marymount would tack on five more runs. Â Immaculata would cut the lead to 8-5 In the top of the 4
th inning from a Carboni 2 RBI single.
Sara Rode would bring in another for Immaculata in the 5
th, with an RBI single.

Down by 3 in the top of the 7
th,
Jess Oldham drove in two and
Peyton McGowan would tie it up with a single of her own to force extras. In the bottom of the 8
th, Marymount would walk it off with a two run homer.

Game Two: Immaculata 6 Marymount 9

The Macs would jump out to an early 3-0 lead in the top half of the second inning.
Bryele Anthony singled in one, and
Jess Oldham singled in two. In the 4
th inning,
Sara Rode would stretch the lead to 4-1 with an RBI double.
Kristin Carter would tack on another in the 4
th with an RBI single to make it a 5-1 ballgame.
Kaitlyn Carter would draw a walk in the 6
th to give the Macs a 6-2 lead.

The Saints would score seven unanswered runs in the bottom of the 6
th to take the game 9-6.

The Immaculata softball team is back in action on Thursday, April 20
th with a 5:00 PM match up at Rosemont College for a double header under the lights.
