FAYETTEVILLE, Nc- The Immaculata baseball team picked up their first victory of the season by a score of 13-3 over Averett University in the Armstrong Invitational on the campus of Methodist University.
 
The Mighty Macs used big innings in the 3^rd,4^th and 7^th to break the game open and pick up the win in seven innings due to the 10 run rule being in effect.
 
Senior Ryan Crowell pitched five innings of three hit baseball and racked up six strikeouts to earn the win on the mound.
 
Senior Josh Crowding led the Mighty Macs potent lineup going 2 for 4 with 4 RBIs, a double and a walk. Frank Margiotta went 3 for 4 with four runs scored out of the leadoff spot. Joey Sacco (2-5,2b,2 RBIs) , Steven Theisen (1-3,2b,2 RBIs) and Jay Lawrence (2-4,2 RBIs) helped round out the scoring output in the contest.
 
On the basepaths, Sacco racked up three stolen bases, while Margiotta and Theisen each added one of their own.

The Immaculata baseball team is back in action tomorrow,Sunday March 5th when they take on Christopher Newport on the final day of the Armstrong Invitational in Fayetteville,NC.
