COLLEGEVILLE, Pa.- The Immaculata softball team dropped both halves of their doubleheader against Ursinus on Tuesday afternoon.
In game one Immaculata found themselves in an early hole, as Ursinus scored single runs in the first two innings to take a 2-0 lead. Stockton would add two runs in the fourth and fifth innings before scoring a pair of runs in the sixth inning to end the game 8-0.
Pitcher
Riece Onorato fell to 0-2 on the season allowing eight runs on ten hits. Offensively the Mighty Macs were only able to get four hits off the Ursinus starter Christa Andrusiewicz.
Elena Anglani went 2-for-3 with a double for the Macs.
In game two, Ursinus scored in the bottom of the first inning to take the early 1-0 lead. Starting pitcher
Sarah Guido kept the game at 1-0 until the bottom of the fifth inning, when Ursinus scores a pair of unearned runs to extend their lead to 3-0.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, Ursinus scored a pair of runs, including one unearned run to take a 5-1 lead into the top of the seventh.
In the top of the seventh
Jess Oldham led off with a double to left field. Oldham advanced to third on a ground out by
Lauren Carboni. Oldham would score on a single up the middle by
Morgan Sakulich  to score the Mighty Macs only run of the day. Ursinus would get the final out to take game two 5-1.
The Immaculata softball team will be back in action on Thursday, March 30
th when they will host Alvernia University for a non-conference doubleheader with game one starting at 3:00 PM.
