IMMACULATA,Pa.- The Immaculata softball team took both games in their double header with Alvernia University.

Game One: Immaculata 3 Alvernia 2

Sophomore pitcher
Emma Mercadante was magnificent yet again in the circle, going seven strong innings in the contest. Mercadante allowed one earned run in the contest, surrendering just three hits while racking up four strikeouts.

At the plate, sophomore
Bryele Anthony got the Macs on the board driving in
Kaitlyn Carter with an RBI single up the middle in the 3
rd inning. Junior
Peyton McGowan would give the Mighty Macs the lead for good with a 4
th inning blast over the center field wall to drive in fellow junior
Jess Oldham.

Game Two: Immaculata 9 Alvernia 6

The Macs came out swinging early on in the second game, picking up two runs in the bottom of the first from the bats of
Jess Oldham and freshman
Carlee Karcher. In the 3
rd inning,
Rylee Martin would triple to left field, driving in
Steph Kelly and
Peyton McGowan. Karcher would double in senior
Sara Rode in the 5
th to round out the runs driven in for the Macs.

In the circle, graduate student
Sarah Guido picked up the victory, tallying six strikeouts in her seven innings of work.
