Men's Lacrosse Defeats Goucher in Non Conference Match Up

IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata men's lacrosse team defeated Goucher College  on Saturday afternoon by a score of 9-5.

Immaculata jumped out to quick 2-0 lead on goals by Bailey Manion and David Azzarano. Goucher would respond with a goal with 7:38 remaining in the quarter. Following the goal Trey Rorer won the faceoff and took the ball straight in and scored with 7:30 remaining in the first quarter to put Immaculata up 3-1. The Macs would carry the 3-1 lead into the second quarter.

In the second quarter Goucher would score with 9:48 remaining in the quarter to close the Macs lead to 3-2. Neither team was able to score any additional goals and the Macs carried the 3-2 lead into the halftime break.

In the third quarter the  team's played through the first 10 minutes scoreless before Goucher even the game with a goal with 4:55 remaining in the quarter. Bailey Manion put the Macs back up with a goal with 2:59 remaining in the quarter. Connor Tears would follow up scoring two goals separated by only 12 seconds to put Immaculata up 6-3. Immaculata would get two additional goals in the final minute of the quarter from David Azzarano and Ben Wesolowski.

In the fourth quarter Joseph Biuso scored for the Macs, sandwiched by two Goucher goals as Immaculata closed out the 9-5 win.
Immaculata was led offensively by David Azzarano with two goals and one assist, Bailey Manion with two goals, and Connor Tears with two goals. Trey Rorer, Joseph Biuso, and Ben Wesolowski each scored one goal for the Macs. Goalkeeper Matt Ludlow earned the win making 15 saves in goal.

The Immaculata men's lacrosse team will be back in action on Wednesday, March 15th when they host Albright College at 4:00 PM.
