Women's Basketball Drops Semifinal Match Up at Marymount

ARLINGTON, Va.- The Immaculata women's basketball team fell in their Atlantic East Conference semifinal to No. 1 Marymount on Wednesday evening 66-35.

Early on the Immaculata opened a 4-0 lead as Erin Kelly hit one of two from the free-throw line and Kaitlyn Racobaldo completed a three-point play for the Macs. Both teams struggled to find their footing on offense and both teams were playing strong defense. While Immaculata was doing an excellent job containing Marymount's high-scoring attack early, they were unable to convert offensively. Marymount found its footing late in the quarter and led 9-5 at the end of the first quarter.

In the second quarter, both teams continued to play tough defensively. Immaculata was unable to get established on offense, and Marymount carried a 22-10 lead into the halftime break.

Marymount quickly increased their lead in the second half, and lead by 20 at the end of the third quarter. The Saints went on to close out the win 66-35.

Senior Meghan Ricker led the Mighty Macs in scoring with eight points, fellow seniors Morgan Falcone and Kaitlyn Racobaldo followed up with seven a piece.

Immaculata finishes the season with a 13-14 record.

Congratulations to our four senior student-athletes, Erin Kelly, Morgan Falcone, Meghan Ricker, and Kaitlyn Racobaldo on outstanding careers as Mighty Macs, highlighted by helping lead the program to the 2022 Atlantic East Conference Championship.
