IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata women's basketball team honored its senior class on Wednesday evening as the Mighty Macs out paced Marywood 65-53 to secure a home game in the Atlantic East Conference playoffs next week.
Before the start of the game, the Macs honored their four seniors:
Erin Kelly,
Morgan Falcone,
Meghan Ricker, and
Kaitlyn Racobaldo for their hard work both on and off the court throughout their college careers.
In the first quarter Marywood used a 9-0 run to open a 13-4 lead.
Abigail Boyer scored on a fastbreak layup after following a steal by
Mary deSimone to break Marywood's run. The first quarter ended with Marywood holding a 15-6 lead.
In the second quarter
Reese Mullins got the Macs started converting three free throws to close the lead to 15-9.
Abigail Lentowski and
Reese Mullins each scored to pull the Macs within four points with 5:14 remaining in the half.
Erin Kelly,
Abigail Boyer, and
Morgan Falcone as the half would end with Marywood leading 20-19.
In the third quarter
Reese Mullins took over the game scoring 12 points in the quarter to put Immaculata up 35-28 with 2:36 remaining in the quarter.
Abigail Lentowski scored on a layup,
Meghan Ricker hit a three-pointer, and
Bridget Philbin scored on a layup as Immaculata led 42-30 at the end of the third quarter.
In the fourth quarter,
Morgan Falcone hit three three-pointers,
Erin Kelly hit two three pointers, and
Mary deSimone hit one three-pointers as Immaculata closed out the 65-53 win.
Reese Mullins led the Macs offensively with 21 points and added six rebounds.
Morgan Falcone scored 12 points, adding three rebounds and seven assists.
Erin Kelly scored nine points, adding five rebounds and four assists.
Abigail Boyer scored six points.
Meghan Ricker scored four points and added four rebounds, and
Kaitlyn Racobaldo had a game high eight rebounds.
The Immaculata women's basketball team (12-12, 7-4 Atlantic East) will travel to Marymount on Saturday for their final Atlantic East Conference regular season game at 1:00 PM.
