IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata men's basketball team honored their graduating senior on Wednesday evening as the Mighty Macs outpaced Marywood 83-73.
Before the start of the game, the Macs honored their graduating senior
Dez Murphy for his contributions both on and off the court during his collegiate career.
Keith Farmer led the Macs offensively with 27 points and added five rebounds.
Tyler Tillery scored 16 points and led Immaculata with eight rebounds.
Dez Murphy scored eight points and added four rebounds.
Tim Schultice scored seven points.
John Flood scored six points and added three steals on the game.
John Proctor and
Brandon Perez each scored six points as well.
In the first half Immaculata jumped out to a quick 7-0 after a layup by
Tyler Tillery, a layup by
John Proctor, and a three-pointer from
Keith Farmer. Midway through the half
Dez Murphy hit a three-pointer to put Immaculata up 21-10.
Tyler Tillery scored on a layup with 0:23 seconds left in the half to put Immaculata up 42-30. Marywood scored just before the buzzer, as Immaculata led at the half 42-34.
In the second half
Keith Farmer scored on a dunk to put Immaculata up 51-39 with 16:34 remaining in the game. Marywood refused to go quietly as they used and 11-3 run to close Immaculata lead to 54-50 with 13:52 remaining in the game.
Keith Farmer scored on a layup, and
Tyler Tillery followed with a layup of his own and put the Macs back up by eight. Marywood would battle back to climb within four at 66-62 with 4:14 remaining. The Macs got a basket from
Tyler Tillery and a pair of baskets from
Keith Farmer to extend their lead to nine. Immaculata would go on to close out the 83-73 win.
The Immaculata men's basketball team (9-15, 6-5 Atlantic East) will look to try to secure a home playoff game when they travel to Marymount on Saturday for their final regular season Atlantic East Conference game at 3:00 PM.
