GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa.- The Immaculata women's volleyball team was back in action on Saturday afternoon when the visited Gwynedd Mercy University for an Atlantic East Conference match up. Immaculata fell to Gwynedd Mercy 3-0.
In the first set Immaculata took an early 2-0 as
Emily Ettien served the first two points, including a service ace. Gwynedd Mercy responded with four quick points.
Lily Burnette served straight three points that included a kill from
Mia Esposito as the Mighty Macs had a 6-4 lead. Gwynedd Mercy would respond with a five-point run to re-take the lead at 9-6. The Griffins went on to win the first set 25-20.
In set two, Immaculata took an early 5-1 lead on kills from
Emily Ettien,
Calissa Araujo, and
Emily Ettien each registered kills. Gwynedd Mery responded with a six-point run to take a 12-8 lead. Immaculata would battle back to tie the score at 19-19 on a kill from
Alayah Phifer. Gwynedd Mercy would win the second set 25-20.
In the third set Gwynedd Mercy went up early 9-1 and went on to close out the match 3-0 by taking the set 25-10.
On the offensive side
Emma Hodgson and
Mia Esposito registered six kills each.
Calissa Araujo had three kills.
Emily Ettien distributed 11 assists, and
Christina Lenzo added seven assists.
Christina Lenzo and
Dinah Stabinski each registered two service aces and
Emily Ettien had one service ace.
Defensively,
Lily Burnette and
Karissa Herman each had 10 digs, and
Dinah Stabinski added six digs.
Emily Ettien had two blocks, and
Calissa Araujo and
Emma Hodgson each had one block.

st to close out the regular season when they host Marymount University in an Atlantic East Conference matchup at 7:00 PM.
