Men's Tennis Defeats Alvernia

Box Score IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Immaculata men's tennis won a close matchup this afternoon against Alvernia to earn their first victory of the season. The Mighty Macs defeated the Golden Wolves 5-4 overall on the day.

The Mighty Macs first doubles team of Jason Watts and Troy Watts lost their match 8-5 while the Macs second doubles team of Nick Fleming and Nick Meehan won their match 8-4. The Macs third doubles team of Sean Chalmers and Alex Polidoro won their match 8-5.

In singles play, Jason Watts won the first singles match 6-2, 6-4. In second singles Troy Watts lost his match 6-2, 6-4 while Nick Fleming dropped third singles 6-3, 6-3, In fourth singles Nick Meehan dropped his match in three sets 2-6, 6-4, 9-11. Jeremy Brown won fifth singles 3-6, 6-4, 12-10 and Matthew Sabat Jr. won his sixth singles match 6-1, 6-4.

The Mighty Macs are back in action on Sunday, September 18^th when the travel to play Elizabethtown College at 11:00 AM.
