Men's Soccer Plays to 1-1 Draw with Penn State Brandywine

IMMACULATA, Pa – The Immaculata Men's soccer team returned to Draper Walsh Stadium this afternoon to take on Penn State Brandywine.  

The teams battled through an evenly played match that ended in a 1-1 draw. Immaculata's Oldy Dielce converted a penalty kick in the 68th minute to even the match. 

In the first half Immaculata held a 6 -5 advantage in shots, and a 3-2 edge in corners in a competitive half. Penn State Brandywine opened the scoring in the 30th minute when they scored a goal off a free kick and took a 1-0 lead into halftime.  

In the second half both teams had chances to score, but the team's defensive units held strong and kept the score at 1-0. In the 68th minute the Mighty Macs John Bohrer was fouled in the penalty area to earn the penalty kick opportunity that Oldy Dielce converted for the Macs.  

Immaculata's goalkeeper Ryan Straub had four saves in the match to lead the defense. The Mighty Macs were lead on offense by Josh Fonder and Oldy Dielce who each had two shots in match. 

The Mighty Macs are back in action on Thursday, September 15th at 7:00 PM when they host the University of Valley Forge.
