ASTON, Pa. – The Immaculata men's lacrosse team dropped their Atlantic East Quarterfinal matchup against No. 4 Neumann 21-6 on Saturday.
The Mighty Macs were kept scoreless for the entirety of the first quarter while the Knights scored eight goals on the period.
David Azzarano finally broke the ice for the Mighty Macs just over a minute into the second quarter on an assist from
Bailey Manion. The Knights then scored five additional goals on the quarter, putting the Macs down 13-1 at the half.
Moving into the second half, the Macs were down 14-1 when Manion scored back-to-back goals in the span of 40 seconds for the Macs. Later in the third quarter,
Connor Teears and
Branden Smith both scored for the Macs, making the score 16-5.
The Macs would be outscored 5-1 on the fourth quarter with their lone goal coming from
Anthony Inserra. The Mighty Macs were unable to rally further as the Knights took home a 21-6 victory.
On the day,
David Azzarano led the Macs with four points, scoring one goal and notching three assists.
Bailey Manion, meanwhile, scored two goals and one assist for the Macs.
Branden Smith and
Anthony Inserra each also scored for the Macs.
The Mighty Macs conclude the 2022 season with a 5-10 overall record, posting a 2-4 record in Atlantic East play.
