Women's Lacrosse Falls at Neumann in Regular Season Finale

ASTON, Pa. – The Immaculata women's lacrosse team dropped its final Atlantic East Conference matchup Wednesday afternoon against Neumann University 22-9
 
Immaculata found themselves in an early 3-0 deficit before Tessa Liberatosciolli broke the ice seven minutes into the first quarter. Neumann, however, would score three additional goals on the quarter to claim a 6-1 lead over Immaculata after the period.
 
After a Knights goal to start the second quarter, the Mighty Macs scored four goals across a five-minute span, cutting the deficit to 7-5. Tessa Liberatosciolli and Jackie Murray scored two goals apiece on the stretch. The Knights, however, responded with a four-goal rally of their own to claim an 11-5 advantage over the Macs at halftime.
 
The first ten minutes of the third quarter found the Macs and Knights neck-and-neck, scoring three goals each on the stretch. Erynn Kriebel and Liza Laxton each scored while Murray picked up her third goal of the day.
 
The Knights, however, went on an eight-goal run over the next 15 minutes, owning a 22-8 lead over the Macs with five minutes remaining in regulation. Laxton scored a goal with three minutes remaining, but it would not be enough as the Macs fell 22-9.
 
Jackie Murray and Tessa Liberatoscioli each scored three goals on the day for the Macs while Murray also picked up an assist. Liza Laxton, meanwhile, scored two goals and one assist while Erynn Kriebel picked up a goal for the Macs.
 
The Mighty Macs now conclude the regular season with a 2-3 record in Atlantic East Conference play. Having secured the No. 4 seed, the Macs will now open up the Atlantic East Tournament at home on Saturday against the No. 5 seed Marywood.
