IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Immaculata women's lacrosse team honored its senior class on Saturday as the Mighty Macs defeated Lancaster Bible 21-11.
Tessa Liberatoscioli led the Macs with seven goals and five assists on the day on nine shots on goal.
Prior to the start of the game, the Macs honored their seven graduating seniors in
Erynn Kriebel,
Katie Mulvey,
Ashley Hankin,
Mary McKinney,
Maddy Terry,
Courtney Floyd, and manager Jess Bowe.
The Macs scored first as
Jackie Murray scored on an assist from Ashely Hankin two minutes into the contest. The Chargers then went on a 3-1 run with the lone Mac goal coming from Liberatoscioli as the Macs fell behind 3-2. With three minutes left in the first quarter, however, the Macs embarked on what would be a run of eight goals in eight minutes, claiming a 10-3 lead over the Chargers in the second quarter. Murray and Liberatoscioli each scored three on the run while Hankin and
Liza Laxton each picked up one goal.
The Mighty Macs and Chargers each scored two goals in the final nine minutes of the first half as Laxton and Liberatoscioli each added a goal for the Macs. The Macs entered halftime with a 12-5 lead over the Chargers.
Kaitlyn Klitchko, Laxton, and Murray each scored to kick of the second half, giving Immaculata a 15-5 lead over Lancaster Bible. Over the final 20 minutes of the contest, Lancaster Bible would attempt to mount a comeback, but were unable as the Macs match their production goal-for-goal the remainder of the contest as the score stood 21-11.
Liberatoscioli led the Macs offensively on the game, scoring seven goals and five assists for a season-high 12 points on the game. Murray also scored six goals while Klitchko scored three. Laxton also scored three goals and three assists while seniors Kriebel and Hankin each picked up a goal as well.
The Mighty Macs will return to action on Wednesday as they travel to Scranton, Pa. for a matchup with Marywood.
