Comeback Falls Short in Women's Lax Loss to Bryn Mawr

IMMACULATA, Pa. – After coming back from a late deficit to force overtime, the Immaculata women's lacrosse team lost a 10-9 matchup against Bryn Mawr on Wednesday.
 
The Macs owned the first quarter of action as Liza Laxton scored the first two goals of the day. Jackie Murray also contributed with a goal, giving the Macs a 3-1 advantage heading into the second frame.
 
The first five minutes of the second quarter were action-packed as both teams scored two goals on the stretch. Laxton and Kaitlyn Klitchko scored for the Macs while Tessa Liberatoscioli picked up her second assist of the game. A goal later in the quarter from the Owls, however, cut the Macs' lead to 5-4 heading into halftime.
 
The Macs were shutout in the third quarter as the Owls jumped on top with three goals on the quarter. Jackie Murray broke the scoreless streak for the Macs in the fourth quarter, but was met with two straight goals from the Owls as the score stood 9-6.
 
The final three minutes of regulation, however, belonged to the Macs. Liberatoscioli scored two unassisted goals on the stretch before assisting the game-tying goal from Erynn Kriebel with 36 seconds on the clock.
 
The Macs, however, would not be able to score in overtime as the Owls claimed victory on a goal with 1:14 remaining in overtime.
 
Liberatoscioli recorded two goals and three assists to lead the Macs with five points on the day. Laxton, meanwhile, led the team with three goals on eight shots on the game.
 
The Macs will return to action on Saturday as they travel to Widener.
