ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fl. – The Immaculata women's tennis team kicked off its spring break trip on Sunday as they defeated Cornell College 5-4.
The Macs' first singles team of
Annamarie Degnan and
Pamela Kontaras dropped their first doubles matchup 8-2 before Jess Dougherty and
Kelly O'Brien took their second doubles match 8-5.
Audrey Keen and
Katie Gardner then won third doubles 5-4.
Moving into singles, Degnan and Dougherty dropped first and second singles by scores of 3-6, 2-6, and 1-6, 0-6. Kontaras then won her third singles match with scores of 6-1 and 6-0. O'Brien dropped fourth singles by scores of 4-6 and 0-6 before Keen took fifth singles 6-0 and 6-4.
The Mighty Macs will return to action tomorrow as they compete against Ohio Wesleyan.
