Liberatoscioli Scores Five in Loss to Cabrini

IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Immaculata women's lacrosse team opened up Atlantic East Conference play on Thursday, dropping their match against Cabrini 25-12. Tessa Liberatoscioli led the Macs on the game with seven points overall.
 
The Mighty Macs and Cavaliers were neck-and-neck through the first five minutes of the contest with the score standing at 3-3. Liza Laxton, Jackie Murray, and Tessa Liberatoscioli each scored a goal on the stretch for the Macs. The Cavaliers then scored four straight goals before the Macs responded, with the score sitting at 8-5 at the end of the first quarter. Liberatoscioli added both Macs' goals the rest of the quarter.
 
After allowing two goals to start the second quarter, Murray broke the ice with second of the day three minutes into the quarter. Cabrini, however, then scored five straight goals to take a 15-6 lead over Immaculata. Murray and Liberatoscioli each scored a goal in the final three minutes as Immaculata entered halftime down 15-8.
 
Cabrini then added six additional goals on the third quarter while keeping Immaculata to two on the quarter. Laxton and Murray each scored on the quarter as Immaculata was down 21-10 at the end of the third quarter.
 
The Mighty Macs again were kept to two goals on the fourth quarter while the Cavs scored four in the final 15 minutes. Liberatoscioli and Kate Mitchel each scored for the Macs on the quarter as the Cavaliers took the game 25-12.
 
Tessa Lieratoscioli led the Macs offensively on the game with a team-leading five goals and two assists. Jackie Murray, meanwhile, picked up four goals while Liza Laxton scored two goals and one assist on the game. Kate Mitchell also scored a goal on the game for the Macs.
 
The Mighty Macs will return to action on Saturday as they honor their senior class before their matchup against Lancaster Bible.
