SUSQUEHANNA, Pa. – The Macs reached double-digits in goals on the second straight game as the Immaculata women's lacrosse team dropped its match versus Susquehanna 23-11 on Saturday.
Jackie Murray scored two goals in the first five minutes of the first quarter as the Mighty Macs were down 3-2 against the River Hawks. The Macs then scored two straight goals courtesy of
Kaitlyn Klitchko and
Erynn Kriebel to give the Macs a 4-3 lead. The River Hawks responded by going on a 3-1 goal streak over the rest of the quarter.
Tessa Liberatoscioli scored the Macs' goal on the stretch as the Macs were down 7-5.
Susquehanna then dominated the second quarter, scoring five goals to Immaculata's one on the period.
Jackie Murray was assisted by
Liza Laxton for Immaculata's lone goal as Susquehanna owned a 12-6 lead at the half.
The River Hawks built upon their momentum in the third quarter, scoring nine goals to the Macs' three for a commanding 21-9 lead going into the fourth quarter. Liberatoscioli,
Ashley Hankin, and Laxton scored the goals for the Macs.
Susquehanna scored two more goals in the first six minutes of the fourth quarter, taking a 14-goal lead over Immaculata. Murray and Klitchko each added one additional goal in the final seven minutes of action as the Macs fell 23-11.
Murray led the Macs offensively on the day with four goals scored while Liberatoscioli and Klitchko each tallied two.
The Macs return to action next on Tuesday as they travel to Rutgers-Camden for a 4:00 P.M. matchup.
