IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata University Director of Athletics and Recreation, Paul Murphy, announced the hiring of Ryan Wilson as the new head coach for the Mighty Macs' Esports program on Monday afternoon. Wilson joins the Mighty Macs mid-season as the Macs look to defend their 2021 Atlantic East Rocket League title this coming spring.

"I am very excited for the student-athletes at Immaculata to have Ryan in this position," opened Murphy. "He is a former collegiate Esports competitor at this level and knows the Esports landscape well.  Ryan will be a strong mentor to help our team navigate this fairly new terrain."

Wilson previously was a student-athlete at Misericordia University where he was the Esports team captain in 2020. He also consulted with Immaculata University on the construction of the Esports arena during its' construction in the summer of 2020.

"I am honored to be named the Head Coach of Immaculata University's Esports program," said Wilson. "I want to thank the Director of Athletics and Recreation, Paul Murphy, for this opportunity. While visiting campus, I was greatly impressed by the Esports Arena and how friendly and helpful the staff and administration were. I am looking forward to working with such a helpful group of staff and athletes and cannot wait to watch this program grow."

Wilson earned his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Misericordia in 2021.

Wilson will begin his duties as the Mighty Macs head coach immediately.
