CHESTERTOWN, Md.- The Immaculata women's basketball team dropped their non-conference match up with Washington College on Saturday afternoon by a score of 68-51.
In the first quarter the host Washington College opened a quick 8-0 lead with 7:08 to play in the opening quarter. Immaculata got on the board with 6:26 to play on a layup by
Tessa Liberatoscioli. Washington College would take a 21-8 lead into the second quarter.
In the second quarter Washington College continued to apply offensive pressure on Immaculata outscoring the Macs 19-13 in the quarter. Washington College banked in a three-pointer at the buzzer to take a 40-21 lead at the half.
In the third quarter
Morgan Falcone hit a jumper to pull Immaculata within 13 points at 49-36 with 2:51 left in the quarter. Washington College would end the quarter on a 6-2 run to take a 55-38 lead going into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth quarter Washington College held a 64-38 lead with 7:06 left in the game. Immaculata would go on the score 13 of the final 17 points in the game. Washington College held on to win by a score of 68-51.
The Mighty Macs were led by
Abigail Lentowski who scored 12 points and added nine rebounds.
Reese Mullins scored 11 points, and
Tessa Liberatoscioli who scored nine points, and added a game high 10 rebounds, and three steals.
Francesca Scarpone scored six points, and
Abigail Boyer contributed five points and three steals.
Immaculata women's basketball team will be back in action on Saturday, December 17
th when they play Messiah University in their first game of the Cruzin Classic at St. Thomas University in Miami Gardens, Florida at 12:30 PM.
