IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata men's basketball team dropped their non-conference match up to Penn State Abington on Wednesday evening 61-55.
Early in the first half the team's found themselves in a back-and-forth battle. Immaculata would use an 11-point run to open an eight-point lead at 17-9 with 9:00 remaining the half. Immaculata's lead would grow to nine points on a layup by
Tyler Tillery with 4:38 left in the half. Immaculata would take a 22-16 lead into the halftime break.
Steven Dao led the Macs in the first half scoring eight points, and
Tyler Tillery scored six. Immaculata shot 40.91% from the field in the first half.
In the second half Immaculata rebuilt their lead to eight points early in the half on a jumper by
Tyler Tillery. Immaculata held the lead until Penn State Abington tied the score at 46-46 with 5:03 remaining in the game. After a Macs turnover, Penn State Abington took the lead at 49-46 on a three-pointer with 4:15 left in the game. Penn State Abington managed to hold on to take the game 61-55.
Steven Dao led the Macs tonight scoring 19 points, to go along with six rebounds and two steals.
Tyler Tillery scored 12 points and contributed seven rebounds, and
Tim Schultice scored nine points for the Macs. Immaculata shot 54.17% from the field in the second half and 47.8% for the game.
Immaculata (2-4) is back in action on Thursday, December 1st when they visit Keystone College. Tipoff is at 7:00 PM.
