Mighty Macs Take Down Griffins on Senior Day

 

IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata University Women's Soccer team took down Gwynedd Mercy University by a score of 4-0 in this afternoon's Atlantic East Conference matchup on senior day at Draper Walsh Stadium. 
 
After a number of shots on goal throughout the first half, Mighty Mac sophomore Rachel McNamee scored the first Immaculata goal in the 30th minute of play. Immaculata seniors Tanis McDonnell, Kelli Dombroski, Bridget McDonough, juniors Hannah Phillips and Nicole Winouski, sophomore Kelsey Caldarelli, and freshman Therese Weis and Savanna Crowding all tallied shots on goal as sophomore goalkeeper Gina Marinelli tallied one save in the first half.
 
The second half was all Immaculata, with Nicole Winouski scoring the second goal on an assist by Kelli Dombroski in just the first five minutes of second half play. Again within the first ten minutes of the second half, the Mighty Macs struck again with Kelli Dombroski scoring the third goal in the 54th minute of play on an assist by Kristen Guthier.

The fourth and final goal was scored by Mighty Mac Nicole Brennan near the 85th minute of play. For the remainder of the second half, Immaculata's Tanis McDonnell, Kelli Dombroski, Nicole Brennan, Hannah Phillips, Kristen Guthier, Rachel McNamee all placed shots on goal in the second.

Goalkeeper Gina Marinelli provided a clean sheet in goal for the Mighty Macs, leading the defense. 

Immaculata University would like to acknowledge its Women's Soccer seniors as they celebrate their time and accomplishments with the program. Congratulations to Nicole Brennan, Bridget McDonough, Kristen Guthier, Kelli Dombroski, and Tanis McDonnell on their careers with the Mighty Macs.
 
The Immaculata University Women's Soccer team will travel to Aston, Pennsylvania this Tuesday, October 11th to face Neumann University for an Atlantic East Conference matchup.
