WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Immaculata women's basketball team travel to West Point on Monday as they faced NCAA Division I Army West Point in an exhibition game on Monday afternoon.
Abigail Lentowski was the first to break the ice for the Mighty Macs, scoring a layup less than a minute into the contest, tying the game up at 2-2. The Macs later scored four additional points on the quarter on a layup from Lentowski and two free throws from
Theresa Kearney as the score stood 25-6 at the end of the first quarter.
The Macs opened up the second quarter going neck-and-neck with the Black Knights as the Knights went 8-6 against the Macs over the first six minutes of the second quarter. Kearney and Lentowski each dropped two points on the run while
Erin Kelly and
Kaitlyn Racobaldo each recorded one point. In the final two minutes of action on the first half,
Sydney Ott,
Morgan Falcone, and Lentowski scored a combined five points for the Macs as the score stood at 43-16 at the half.
At the half, the Macs were led by
Abigail Lentowski, who dropped seven points and added four rebounds on the half.
Theresa Kearney then led the Macs with five rebounds on the half while also contributing with four points scored on the half.
Meghan Ricker then kicked off the third quarter for the Mighty Macs as she scored on a step-back jumper in the first minute of the quarter. The Black Knights then kept the Macs scoreless for the next five minutes before
Reese Mullins converted on a free throw. Later, Kearney converted on back-to-back jump shot opportunities with under a minute remaining in the quarter as the Macs found themselves down 63-23 heading into the fourth quarter.
The fourth quarter, however, belonged to the Macs as the Mighty Macs posted 18 points on the quarter.
Kaitlyn Racobaldo and
Morgan Falcone each scored within the first two minutes of action before
Erin Kelly dropped a three-pointer as well. Then, in the final four minutes of action, Falcone and Ricker both dropped three-pointers while Lentowski scored five straight points to end the game as the Macs dropped the contest against the Division I Black Knights 78-41.
Lentowski led the Macs in scoring on the game, scoring 12 points on the game while recording eight rebounds along with one steal on the game. Kearney was next in both points and rebounds for the Macs, scoring eight points and seven rebounds while also earning two steals and one assist on the night for the Macs.
The Mighty Macs will return to Alumnae Hall for their next contest as they host Atlantic East rival Cabrini. Their matchup with the Cavaliers is scheduled to start at 6:00 P.M.
