IMMACULATA, Pa.-The Immaculata men's tennis team returned home on Sunday afternoon to host Cabrini in what was also senior day for the Mighty Macs. Immaculata battled throughout but fell by a final of 7-2.
Prior to the match, Immaculata honored its two seniors in
Michael Chartier and
Matt DeHaut for their contributions to the men's tennis program over the course of their careers.
In doubles action,
Jason Watts and
Michael Chartier dropped their first doubles match by an 8-3 final while
Matt DeHaut and
Nicholas John fell in second doubles by an 8-0 final.
Jeremy Brown and
Kevin Lyons claimed the third doubles spot by default to make the score 2-1 Cabrini heading into singles play.
In singles play, Watts dropped his first singles match by a final of 6-1, 6-2 while Chartier fell in second singles 6-1, 6-0. In third singles, DeHaut fell 6-1, 6-0 while John dropped his fourth singles match 6-1, 6-2 and Brown fell in fifth singles 6-1, 6-2 as well. In the sixth singles spot, Lyons picked up another default victory in the 7-2 setback.
