Box Score ASTON, Pa.- The Immaculata men's tennis team took to the road on Monday afternoon to face Atlantic East rival Neumann. The match was close throughout but Immaculata was able to prevail with a 5-4 victory over Neumann to improve to 2-1 in Atlantic East play.
In doubles action,
Jason Watts and
Michael Chartier teamed up to capture their first doubles match by a final of 8-3. In second doubles,
Nicholas John and
Matt DeHaut fell by a final of 8-6 but
Jeremy Brown and
Kevin Lyons took third doubles by default to give Immaculata an early 2-1 lead in the match.
In singles play, Watts took his first singles match 6-4, 6-2 while Chartier claimed his second singles match by a 6-3, 6-1 final. DeHaut fell in the third spot by a 6-1, 6-4 final while John dropped his match 6-3, 6-2 and Brown fell in fifth in singles 6-3, 6-4. In sixth singles, Lyons won by default as Immaculata picked up the 5-4 match victory.
Immaculata will be back in action on Thursday afternoon vs Cabrini with that match set to begin at 3:30 p.m. at home.
