Women's Soccer Falls to Marywood in Season Finale

IMMACULATA, Pa.-The Immaculata women's soccer team was back in action against a familiar foe on Saturday afternoon as the Marywood Pacers visited Draper Walsh Stadium for what was the Macs season finale. Immaculata battled throughout but fell by a final of 3-1 to conclude the regular season.

In the first half, Marywood opened the scoring with its first goal of the contest in the 18th minute before adding another tally in the 31st to grab an early 2-0 lead.

Immaculata got a goal in the 32nd minute as the Pacers scored an own goal following a shot from the top of the box from sophomore Kelli Dombroski.

Despite trailing heading to the break, Immaculata outshot its guests by a 9-5 margin through the opening 45 minutes but the Marywood defense was up to the task as the Pacers carried a slim lead into the halftime break.

In the 57th minute, Marywood scored its third goal of the contest to claim a 3-1 lead, which it would never relinquish.

Brooke Shissler played well in goal for the Macs making five big saves to limit the Marywood offense.

This contest was the final game of the year for mmaculata as the Macs will conclude their abbreviated 2020 season with a record of 2-1-1.
