IMMACULATA, Pa- Immaculata dropped a tough 83-46 contest to conference leading Marymount in its final home game of the regular season. Prior to today's game the Mighty Macs recognized its four seniors, Molly Gallagher, Annie Kohutka, Kaela Asadourian and Erin Wingen.
Theresa Kearney led the team with 16 points and had five rebounds. Brielle Rigo was tough on the defensive end and had five blocks and added 13 points in the setback. Morgan Falcone added six point off the bench for the Macs (11-12, 5-5).
Four different Saints (20-4, 10-1) scored in double figures with Symantha Shackelford leading the way with 20 points. Katie McShae and Abby Fisher added 19 and 18 points respectively for Marymount.
Both teams traded baskets in the early going when Jordan Rook connected on a three to give the Macs an early 5-4 lead. The Saints stiffened up the defense and went on a 13-4 run over the final eight minutes of the first quarter to hold a 17-9 lead after the first quarter.
The Mighty Macs shot 50-percent from the field in the second quarter and closed the half on a 10-4 run as it trailed 33-28 at intermission. Theresa Kearney showed no slowing down after scoring her 1,00th point and had 13 points at the half.
Immaculata fought hard in the opening minutes of the third quarter and trailed 39-33 following a three by Brielle Rigo. Marymount went on to flex its muscles and pulled away late in the third quarter with a 13-2 run to hold a 55-37 lead heading into the fourth.
The Saints continued its hot shooting in the final quarter and outscored the Mighty Macs 28-9 in the fourth for the comfortable win. Marymount shot 52-percent from the field and made 6-of-12 attempts from three.
Immaculata visits Gwynedd Mercy at 6 p.m. on Wednesday evening in Atlantic East Action.
