IMMACULATA, Pa. –On the heels of an exciting 3-2 victory over Wilkes on Saturday afternoon, the Immaculata University men's soccer team remained home on Monday evening to face a former conference rival in the Rosemont College Ravens. After a scoreless first half, Rosemont registered a pair of goals en route to the 2-0 victory over Immaculata.
How it Happened:
- In the first half of play, both teams had a handful of strong scoring opportunities, however, the defense for both Rosemont and Immaculata proved to be up to the task as the game went to the halftime break even at 0-0.
- In the 54th minute, Rosemont opened the scoring off a long kick into the box to claim a1-0 lead early in the second half.
- In the 80th minute, Rosemont added one more goal to claim a commanding 2-0 lead late in the contest.
Inside the Box Score:
- At the end of the game, Immaculata held a solid 23-12 lead in shots including an 11-7 edge in shots on goal. The Macs also ended the contest with a 10-5 edge in corners.
- Mikey Kalpokas worked hard in goal making five big saves, however, his counterpart Grant Gonzalez was even stronger making 11 big saves of his own to earn the shutout victory.
