GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa.- The Mighty Mac women's lacrosse team (5-8, 2-3) picked up their second Atlantic East Conference victory on Saturday at Gwynedd Mercy (4-10, 0-4) by a score of 21-11, which locked up an Atlantic East playoff berth for the Mighty Macs.

The Macs were led by junior
Layne Kennedy with eight points on seven goals and one assist, junior
Anna DiDonato scored four times, and sophomore
Maura Murray reached the 100-point plateau for her career with seven of them on the day on three goals and four assists. Junior
Kayla Cadden scored three times with an assist, and senior
Bailey Krewson scored twice and added four assists. Freshman
Maddy Terry chipped in with one goal and one assist.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The teams traded goals in the opening two and a half minutes with Cadden scoring for the Macs, and IU then took the lead for good with back-to-back goals from Kennedy and DiDonato to make it 3-1
-The Macs maintained their two-goal lead at 5-3 before seeing that lead grow to four on tallies by Krewson and DiDonato to extend the advantage to 7-3
-The lead was still at four goals at 9-5 before Murray and DiDonato pushed the edge to 11-5 just before half and they led 11-6 at the break
-The Macs scored four of the first five of the second half to take command on goals by Kennedy, Krewson, Terry, and Cadden to make it 15-7 six minutes in
-Gwynedd never got closer than eight the rest of the way as Kennedy scored four of the final six goals for the Macs to put the game away

-The Macs were outstanding clearing the ball at 17-for-19 while the Griffins were just 14-for-24
-IU outshot the Griffins, 41-25, and had 14 groundballs to 12 for Gwynedd
