IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Mighty Mac softball team (18-8-2, 4-2) played first place Neumann (20-12, 5-1) on Saturday afternoon in a doubleheader and the two teams split with IU winning the opener, 3-2, and Neumann taking game two, 6-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME 1
-Neumann put a runner on third base with less than two outs in both the second and fourth innings, but Bormann got out of the jam both times to keep the game scoreless
-The Macs struck in a big way in the bottom of the fourth as Rey with a line shot to left and Hindle with a towering drive to right went back-to-back to put them up 2-0
-IU threatened in the sixth by loading the bases, but they were unable to extend their lead
-Neumann tied it on a two-run homer in the seventh, but the Macs loaded the bases on three consecutive singles with one out and Rey brought home the winning run on a walk

-The game was scoreless through the opening four innings with both sides generating some chances, but unable to get anything across

-The Mighty Macs got on the board in the bottom of the sixth as freshman
Cat Knoll hit an RBI single, and the Macs would go on to load the bases with two outs, but a line out ended the threat
-Neumann put the game away in the top of the seventh with three runs
