DiDonato, Kennedy Log Hat Tricks in Road Loss at Alvernia

READING, Pa. - Anna DiDonato and Layne Kennedy combined for seven goals to pace the Immaculata University women's lacrosse team's offensive attack Monday afternoon at Alvernia, but the Mighty Macs were unable to overcome a two-goal halftime deficit to the Golden Wolves, falling 15-10. Kayla Cadden, Bailey Krewson and Sarah Frick all posted single tallies for the Macs in the effort.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Macs fell into an early two-goal deficit in the opening two minutes of the non-conference matchup, but DiDonato's free position shot cut the Alvernia lead in half with her first of three goals at the 24:06 mark.
-After Alvernia netted another set of back-to-back scores, DiDonato and Kennedy scored within 43 seconds of each other to get the Macs back within one. Just under two minutes later, Krewson drew the Macs even with Alvernia at four, her 15th of the season.
-Alvernia held a three-goal advantage with under a minute remaining in the opening half, but Cadden found the back of the net on a free position shot with 16 seconds left on the clock before the two sides headed into the break.
-DiDonato and Kennedy brought the Macs back even with the Golden Wolves in the opening minutes of the second half on a pair of man-down scores, and Kennedy gave IU its first lead of the game at the 16:18 mark to complete her hat trick.
-The Golden Wolves jumped back out ahead at 10-9 with 12 minutes remaining and, despite Kennedy's fourth goal of the afternoon to knot the contest at ten-all, the Macs were held scoreless over the final ten-plus minutes as Alvernia went on for the 15-10 victory.
