IMMACULATA, Pa. - The Immaculata University baseball team saw its eight-game win streak come to an end in Wednesday's home-opener against Ursinus, as the Macs dropped a 14-7 final in the non-conference matchup.
Cameron Delisle paced the Mighty Mac offense with six runs driven in on the afternoon, three of which came on a bases-clearing double in the ninth inning.
Freshman
Greg Lambert tossed two and a third innings of scoreless relief for the Macs while picking up a pair of strikeouts.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Bears opened the scoring in the top of the first inning with a two-out, run-scoring double, but
Tom Prato drew the Macs even in the bottom half with a base hit into left to score
Tyler Kmiec who reached on an error to begin the frame.
-Ursinus went on to strike for seven unanswered runs over the course of the second through fifth innings to take an 8-1 lead before Delisle drove in
Joey Sacco with an RBI groundout in the home half of the fifth.
-The visitors broke the game open with a six-run seventh, and despite a two-run single and a bases-clearing double from Delisle in the late stages of the game, Ursinus was able to close out the 14-7 midweek victory.
