FREDERICK, Md.- The Mighty Mac women's lacrosse team (2-3) battled tough at Hood College (6-1) on Wednesday afternoon in a non-conference tilt, but they were unable to keep pace as the Blazers dealt the Macs a 19-9 defeat.

Layne Kennedy had four points with three goals and one assist, while senior
Bailey Krewson and junior
Anna DiDonato each scored three times as well.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Macs struck first on a tally from Kennedy to Krewson, and following a Hood goal, the Macs re-took the lead less than five minutes in on a free position shot by Kennedy to make it 2-1
-The Mighty Mac offense was then shut down for the next 21 minutes as Hood went on an 8-0 spurt to take a 9-2 lead
-IU prevented it from getting away from them as Kennedy and DiDonato each scored unassisted to cut the deficit to 9-4 going into the break
-The Blazers halted any Mighty Mac momentum out of the locker room with the first four goals of the period to push their advantage to 13-4
-The Macs scored two of the next three on tallies by DiDonato and Krewson, but the deficit was push to 16-6 after a Hood goal with 12:50 remaining
-DiDonato, Krewson, and Kennedy each added one more around three Hood goals to get to the final

-The Macs were outshot, 40-16, and Hood held a 19-7 edge in groundballs
-IU cleared it successfully 14-of-20 times and Hood di so 8-of-11
