IMMACULATA, Pa. - The Immaculata University men's volleyball team was unable to climb out of an early deficit in the middle game of the Mighty Macs' current three-game homestand, as the hosts fell to visiting Southern Virginia in Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) action, 3-0.
Garrett Pepper led the Macs on the court with six kills while
Donte Ramos recorded a team-high eight assists in the effort.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Mighty Macs were able to stay within three points in the early stages of the first set, but an 8-0 Knight run put the visitors out in front by ten, before a later 9-0 run vaulted Southern Virginia to the 25-7 first set victory.
-Pepper and
Bryce Wiltbank each logged kills in the second set for the Macs, but a strong Southern Virginia offensive attack resulted in a 25-8, second-set victory.
-Pepper continued his solid play into the third set with three kills in the frame to go along with a Wiltbank service ace, but the Knights were able to close out the match with a 25-10 win in the third set.
