IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Mighty Mac women's lacrosse team (0-2) raced out to a 4-0 lead on a cold Wednesday afternoon at Draper Walsh Stadium, but the Goucher College Gophers (2-1) slowly crept their way back into the game and broke an 8-8 tie late to defeat the Mighty Macs, 11-9.

Maura Murray had four points on three goals and one assists, while junior
Layne Kennedy (three goals), and junior
Anna DiDonato (two goals, one assist), each had three points.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Mighty Macs fired out of the gates scoring four goals in the first 5:23 on tallies by DiDonato, Murray, and two from Kennedy
-Goucher responded with three of their own to cut the deficit to one, and each team scored once more to follow to make it 5-4 at the break
-Goucher took their first lead of the game by scoring the first two goals of the second half to make it 6-5, but senior
Bailey Krewson scored her first of the season and Murray followed with her second of the day to put the Macs back on top with 18:23 remaining
-The Gophers again tied it at 7-7 before DiDonato took a feed from senior
Jackie Wood to put the Mighty Macs back on top
-Goucher then went to work on offense and scored three more times to push their advantage to 10-8
-Murray gave a great individual effort to make it 10-9 with 5:38 to go, but the Gophers put it away with a goal just under the four minute mark

-The game was played very evenly in several categories as both squads turned it over 25 times
-The Gophers held a 28-24 edge in shots while the Macs scooped up 20 groundballs to 17 for Goucher
