IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Mighty Mac women's basketball team played host to the Marywood University Pacers to complete their first trip around the Atlantic East schedule on Monday night and after a strong start, the Macs (5-14, 2-4) struggled down the stretch as the Pacers claimed the conference win, 65-54.

Theresa Kearney led the Macs with 15 points, and sophomore

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Mighty Macs fired out of the gates, knocking down 9-of-19 attempts in the first quarter and scored 22 points
-IU was trailing 15-9 before going on a 13-0 run to close out the period over the final 3:23. Senior
Amber Ballinger hit a three pointer, followed by a jumper from junior
Annie Kohutka. Â Kearney then netted five straight before sophomore
Lauren Carrafa nailed a three to finish off the quarter with IU up by seven
-Carrafa hit her second three of the half to put IU up by 10 with 9:35 left in half, but the teams traded buckets the rest of the way to put IU to half up seven, 34-27
-The Macs then struggled in the third quarter as they converted just two baskets and Marywood outscored them by 12 to take a 43-38 lead to the fourth
-IU then started the fourth quickly as they tied it with a three by Rigo and free throws by Kohutka to make it 43-43 with nine to go
-The game was tied again at 45, but the Macs then never got closer than three the rest of the way

TEAM COMPARISON
-The Macs were 20-for-66 (30.3%) from the field and Marywood was 19-for-49 (38.8%)
-IU took 29 three pointers on the day and hit seven of them while the Pacers were 6-for-19 (31.6%)
-Marywood converted 21 of 26 free throws and the Macs were 7-for-9
-Marywood won the battle of the boards, 43-37, while IU forced 19 turnovers while giving it up just 15 times
