ALLENTOWN, Pa.- The Immaculata volleyball team (2-2) travelled to Cedar Crest for a tri-match on Saturday afternoon and earned a 3-1 victory in the opener before falling 3-1 to the hosts.

The Macs defeated SUNY-Old Westbury 25-14, 25-21, 25-27, 25-12 and fell to Cedar Crest 20-25, 21-25, 25-23, 19-25.

HOW IT HAPPENED MATCH ONE
-The first set went back and forth early on, but trailing 7-6, the Macs ripped off four straight points, topped off by a
Olivia Zdradzinski service ace to put them up 10-7
-After having their run stop, the Mighty Macs won six of the next eight points and held a commanding 16-9 lead after a Margaret Hawkbaker ace
-Immaculata won the final three points with a kill by
Shelby Belk to win the first set, 25-14
-The Mighty Macs struggled out of the gates in the second set, trailing 16-9, and then trailed 20-13 in need of a rally
-IU then ripped 12 of the final 13 points of the game on the strength of serving by
Natalie Dependahl and Zdradzinski to win 25-21 in the second set
-The third set was another tight affair with the score tied several times, including 25-25 before Old Westbury scored the final two points
-The Mighty Macs left little doubt in the fourth set as they took a 10-5 lead and saw their lead grow as large as 12 points at 22-10 before finishing it off on a kill by

HOW IT HAPPENED MATCH TWO
-The Macs fell behind 7-4 early, but surged to tie the game as it was knotted up at 9-9
-The score remained close and the Macs pulled within one at 18-17 on a kill by Zdradzinski, but the Falcons won the next four points to make it 22-17 and they finished it off, 25-20
-In the second set, it was more of the same with a tight contest that the Macs grabbed the lead on at 12-11, but Cedar Crest scored five straight to wrest control and win the set, 25-21
-In the third set in need of a rally, the Mighty Macs scored seven straight points to take a 15-11 lead
-Cedar Crest trailed 22-17, but scored five straight to tie it, however the Mighty Macs finished the set with three straight on kills by Passalacqua, Zadradzinski, and a Cedar Crest attack error
-In the fourth set, the Macs started well, leading 11-6, but Cedar Crest slowly clawed back and eventually took the set, 25-19
