IMMACULATA, Pa. - The Immaculata University baseball team struggled to get in a rhythm offensively Monday afternoon in a pivotal Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) matchup with Cabrini, resulting in a 9-3 loss.

Richard Fontanillas doubled twice and Greg Dahl produced an RBI triple in the effort, but it was not enough to keep pace with the Cavaliers' 16-hit day.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Cabrini got on the board in the top of the first when a catcher's interference call allowed the inning to continue with two outs, which was followed by a run-scoring double to right-center off the bat of Mack McKisson.
-The Cavaliers plated two more runs in the fourth with a pair of infield hits and the assistance of an infield error to extend the early lead to three.
-The Macs looked poised to answer in the home half of the fifth when Greg Dahl lined a one-out single back through the middle and Domenic Dellabarba was hit by a pitch. Pat Devenney moved Dahl up to third with a fly out to right, but IU was unable to bring him home as the deficit remained at three.
-Cabrini broke the game open with a four-run sixth, capped off by a two-out, three-run home run to stretch the lead out to seven.
-Richard Fontanillas lifted a run-scoring double to left-center in the bottom half of the sixth, but the Macs could not quite get within reach of the Cavaliers the rest of the afternoon.
-After Cabrini added a pair of insurance runs in the top of the ninth, Greg Dahl ripped an RBI triple to left-center and Dellabarba produced a run with a ground out.
