RADNOR, Pa.- After seeing a three-run seventh inning lead disappear in the first game of their doubleheader at Cabrini (19-9, 15-3 CSAC) on Saturday afternoon, the Mighty Macs (18-14, 11-5 CSAC) responded in game two by holding off a Cabrini rally and winning in extra innings, 11-9.

In the first game, IU led 7-1 heading to the bottom of the sixth, but the Cavaliers scored three in the sixth and won it with four more in the seventh.

In the second game, sophomore
Ashley Rey had a career day with three hits, three runs scored, two home runs, a double, and eight RBIs as the Macs won in extra innings.

GAME 1
HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Macs fell behind in the first after a run from Cabrini, but the Macs responded with two in the top of the second on an RBI double by sophomore
Kayla Sponsel and an error
-IU added to their lead in the third as sophomore
Michaela Petito hit an RBI single that scored two after an error by the left fielder and sophomore
Sydney Sturgill hit an RBI single to extend the advantage to 5-1
-Senior
Annemarie Bartow added one in the fifth with a solo home run, and Rey hit an RBI single in the sixth to stake the Macs to a 7-1 advantage
-Freshman
Emma Bischoff got the start in the circle and retired the side in order in the third, fourth, and fifth, but the Cavs got three back in the sixth on a three-run home run
-In the seventh, Cabrini sent six hitters to the plate and none were retired as three walks and three hits were strung together to deal IU the 8-7 loss

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Macs came out swinging it in the second game as Rey delivered some big swings with a two-run home run in the first to left-center and a grand slam, her second of the season, to center field in the second to put IU up 6-0
-Junior
Jessica Bormann got the start for the Macs and surrendered one in the third, but Rey came up with her third big hit of the day in the fourth with a two-run double to left-center and the Macs led 8-1
-Much like the first game, the Cavaliers kept coming with single runs in the fourth and fifth to cut it to 8-3, and a five-run sixth, punctuated by a game-tying three-run homer made it 8-8 and chased Bormann from the game
-The Macs re-took the lead on an RBI single to center by Petito, but a Cabrini solo home run in the bottom of the inning with two outs against freshman
Renee DeAngelis made it 9-9
-The score held until the ninth when Bartow roped an RBI triple to right field, and Petito followed with her second RBI single
-Bischoff came on in relief in the eighth and retired all six hitters she face for the victory
