IMMACULATA, Pa. - The Immaculata University men's tennis team came one match away from earning its first victory of the spring, but was upended by Eastern in non-conference action, 5-4.
Dom Ramsden,
Alex Brescia and
Will Helm all produced wins in their respective singles matches for the Macs.
DOUBLES RESULTS
-Helm and
Chase Bernier took Eastern's second doubles squad into a tiebreaker after the first set ended 9-8, but fell 7-5.
-Brescia and
Michael Chartier produced an 8-3 win at third doubles for IU.
SINGLES RESULTS
-Ramsden picked up a huge win for the Macs at the first singles slot, taking a 7-5, 6-4 decision.
-Brescia went to a third-set tiebreaker at fifth singles, coming out on top 7-5, 7-6 (7-0).
-Helm made quick work of his opponent at the sixth position, 6-4, 6-2.
-The match all came down to
Alex Noel's third-set tiebreaker at second singles as it was the final match to finish on the day. After dropping the first set 7-5, Noel stormed back for a 6-1 win in the second but the tiebreaker did not fall his way, finishing up at 5-7.
