Hindle Clubs Three Homers To Lead To Split With Ursinus

IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata softball team (12-10) hosted Ursinus (11-11) in a mid-week non-conference doubleheader and after cruising to a first game victory, 12-2, the Macs were topped in game two, 4-1, to earn the split.  Freshman Keani Hindle had a huge day with three home runs between the two games.

In game one, the Mighty Macs had their second 11-run inning in five days as they broke open a 1-1 game in the third with a huge inning to cruise to victory.  Hindle hit a pair of home runs in the third and freshman Emma Bischoff struck out five to earn her team high seventh win.

In the second game, the Macs struggled with just three hits, including a Hindle solo home run, but it was not enough to keep pace with the Bears.

GAME 1
HOW IT HAPPENED
-Bischoff retired the first eight hitters of the game before Ursinus scored on an RBI single in the top of the third to tie the game at 1-1 after the Macs took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second when Hindle scored on a wild pitch
-The Macs then exploded for 11 runs on 11 hits, including five for extra bases.  IU took the lead on an RBI double by Bartow with one out and Hindle followed with a two-run home run to center.  The Macs restarted the rally with four consecutive singles, highlighted by a two-run single by Bischoff
-IU pulled away for good with a two-run double by sophomore Michaela Petito, another two-run double by Bartow, and a two-run home run by Hindle, her second in the inning
-Bischoff finished off the final two frames, despite allowing a two-out RBI single in the fifth
