Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Reardon, Shultis Lift Macs to First CSAC Victory

LA PLUME, Pa. - After coming up just short in its comeback bid against Marywood Saturday, the Immaculata University men's lacrosse team bounced back to post its first Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) victory of the season Wednesday night at Keystone, 17-8. Seniors Mike Reardon and Brian Shultis each had five goals and eight points on the night, making it four-straight games that Reardon has recorded at least five tallies.

Senior Tyler Freas made 11 saves and allowed only six goals en route to his first career win in goal.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Macs got out to a fast start on the road, as Matt Krewson and Steven Long provided unassisted tallies in the first six minutes to give IU the early advantage.
-Keystone got on the board at the 4:41 mark of the first quarter, but it was all IU from then on, as the Macs ripped off four-straight goals between the first and second quarters to end the half on a 4-0 run. Mike Reardon and Brian Shultis each netted a pair to give the Macs a 6-1 lead heading into the intermission.
-The Giants opened the scoring in the second half but it only ignited another IU scoring barrage, as four different Macs found the back of the net to extend the lead to eight late in the third quarter. Shultis and Reardon completed their hat tricks, while Christian Fisher and Steven Long provided the other two.
-In the closing minutes of the third, Krewson ripped his second shot of the night past the keeper before Reardon's buzzer-beater to close out the third all but put the game away at 12-4.
-The Macs outscored the Giants 4-2 in the fourth to secure the 17-8 win, as Ryan Ridolfi netted his second goal of the game before Shultis upped his season total to 26 with two more tallies, and Reardon extended his CSAC-leading goal total to 31 in the final minute with his fifth of the night.
-Tyler Freas made 11 saves on the night for his first career win in goal, while limiting Keystone to just six goals in his 52-plus minutes in front of the cage.
