IU Tripped Up At Ursinus, 8-2

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa.- The Immaculata baseball team (5-10) returned to action on Wednesday afternoon with a non-conference tilt at Ursinus (4-8) and the Macs jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, but the Bears scored eight straight runs to defeat IU, 8-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Senior Eddie Decker got the start for the Macs and after IU went down in order in the first, he made quick work of Ursinus in the bottom of the frame, and the Macs jumped on top in the second
-Junior Cam Delisle walked, stole second, and moved to third on a sacrifice bunt.  A fielding error off the bat of sophomore Chris Szekeres scored Delise, and sophomore Nick Cerelli scored after getting hit by a pitch on a fielder's choice by senior Brad Misialek to stake the Macs to a 2-0 lead
-Decker cruised through the second in order, but Ursinus got to him in the bottom of the third with three runs, the biggest blow coming on a two-out, two-run double to make it 3-2
-IU put together a threat in the fifth as senior Justin Dempsey was hit by a pitch and sophomore Tyler Kmiec was hit by a pitch with one out, but back-to-back strikeouts ended the threat
-Ursinus had a big inning in the fifth with four runs as they chased Decker after getting one out, and junior Billy Manzo came on to finish off the inning with IU trailing, 7-2
-The Macs were unable to threaten again as they fell 8-2
