Alex Noel was the star for the Mighty Mac men's soccer team (6-6-1, 1-0-0 Atlantic East) in their first ever Atlantic East Conference game as he scored a pair of goals to lift the Mighty Macs to a 2-1 victory over visiting Marywood (1-8-1, 0-1-1 Atlantic East) on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The first half was played closely with each team getting a couple chances, but it was the Mighty Macs who finally took advantage
-With 11 seconds left, senior
Mark Staudenmayer slipped a pass behind the defense to Noel who was one-on-one with the goalie and he beat him with a shot to the goalie's right for a 1-0 lead at the break
-The Mighty Macs tacked on a key insurance goal in the 65
th minute as the Macs drew a foul just outside the box and Noel hit a free kick into the top left corner of the cage for his second of the day and sixth of the season
-The Pacers didn't go quietly, as they cut the deficit in half with a goal on a header in the final 10 minutes, but the Mighty Macs held on for their first ever Atlantic East Conference victory
