Sixth-Seeded Volleyball Opens Atlantic East Tournament Play at Neumann Tuesday

ATLANTIC EAST CONFERENCE WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL

IMMACULATA, Pa. - The sixth-seeded Immaculata University women's volleyball team opens play in the inaugural Atlantic East Conference Tournament Tuesday night on the road at third-seeded Neumann as the two sides will by vying for a trip to the semifinals set for Thursday night. The Mighty Macs are aiming to avenge their regular season loss to the Knights on October 6 at Alumnae Hall and enter Tuesday's quarterfinal matchup with momentum on their side having won two of their last three matches to end the regular season.

IMMACULATA NEWS & NOTES
-After enduring an eight-match losing streak that stretched from Oct. 2 through Oct. 20, the Mighty Macs strung together wins in two of their final three matches to end the season, and clinch an Atlantic East Tournament berth in the process with a 3-1 win over Gwynedd Mercy on Oct. 24. 
-Over their last three matches, the Macs have averaged 21.8 points per set.
-The Macs have three players that figure in the top-ten statistically in the Atlantic East this season. Natalie Dependahl and Madi Curley are tied for ninth in service aces with 29. Sara Desmond comes in at tenth with 309 digs on the year.
-Team Leaders: Kills - Zdradzinski 119; Blocks - Belk 35; Digs - Desmond 309; Aces - Curley/Dependahl 29
-The Macs are aiming to secure their first conference tournament victory since the 2015 season when Immaculata defeated fifth-seeded Marywood, 3-1. The Macs' win over the Pacers marked the second playoff win in as many years for the program after defeating Cairn in the first round the season prior.
