Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Macs Top Trinity in Tri-Match at Wesley

DOVER, Del. - The Immaculata University women's volleyball team competed in its final tri-match of the season Saturday at Atlantic East Conference opponent Wesley, and the Macs split their two contests. The Macs played a very tightly-contested match against the host Wolverines, but dropped the conference contest 3-1 before picking up a dominant, straight-set victory over Trinity (D.C.) to conclude the day.

Shelby Belk led IU with 12 kills in the Wesley match, while Sara Desmond recorded a season-high 37 digs in the effort. After dropping the first two sets to Wesley by a combined eight points, the Macs rallied back to take the third set, 25-22, before falling 25-16 in the match-clinching set for the Wolverines. Olivia Zdradzinski posted 31 assists and Madi Curley pitched in 30 digs as well.

In the second and final match of the afternoon, the Macs limited to Trinity to ten points or less in each of the three sets in a solid performance. IU registered 22 service aces in the match - led by Belk's 12 - while also recording kills on 34 of the Macs' 57 points.
