IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata field hockey team got a pair of goals from junior
Colleen Bradley, but the attack of the Kean University Cougars was too much to over come in a 5-2 defeat.
Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Mighty Macs were the first to strike despite not producing many first half opportunities. Bradley received a pass from sophomore
Willa Thompson at the top of the circle, and she slipped one past the keeper for a 1-0 IU lead in the 13
th minute
-The IU defense held for much of the period until the Cougars scored in the 26
th minute and then again with just over two minute to go before half to make it 2-1 at the break
-Kean added to their lead in the 43
rd minute, but the Macs fought back as senior
Jackie Wood found Bradley on the right wing, and she carried in and poked a shot through the goalie's five hole for her second of the game and a 3-2 game with just under 24 minutes remaining
-Freshman
Macy Green made a great run with 13 minutes to go, but her shot sailed just wide to keep the Macs down a goal
-On the counter, the Cougars earned a corner and punched in another to make it 4-2, and they added one more in the 5-2 decision.
