Macs Fall On The Road At Swarthmore, 2-0

SWARTHMORE, Pa.- The Immaculata field hockey team (2-1) suffered their first loss of the young season on Saturday afternoon as they dropped a 2-0 decision at Swarthmore (3-1).
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
-Swarthmore took the 1-0 lead in the 15th minute on a goal by Kathleen Carmichael
-The Mighty Macs battled, developing a couple chances in the first half, but they mostly did work on the defensive end keeping the Garnet off the scoreboard
-It stayed a 1-0 game deep into the second half when Swarthmore added a key insurance goal from Sophie Peipher in the 62nd minute and the Macs were unable to get onto the scoreboard
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
-The Mighty Macs had four shots on the day, two of them on goal
-Senior Megan Donegan had a team-high two shots, while sophomore Colleen Bradley and sophomore Cayla Williams each registered a shot on goal
-Freshman Randie Kuhar played the entire contest in the cage and made a career-high nine saves

The Mighty Macs head to Haverford on Tuesday for a 5 p.m. non-conference tilt.
